In a retrospective study published by Xiang et al in 2020, the relationship between LDH and CRP levels and severe AP, multiple organ failure, and mortality was examined in 115 patients, determining a cut-off value of 235 U/L for LDH, indicating that LDH is a parameter reflecting poor prognosis and severe AP.35 Studies have shown that the LDH/Albumin Ratio, calculated by manually dividing the increased LDH by the decreased serum albumin levels in inflammatory conditions, can predict poor prognosis in gastrointestinal malignancies and Still’s disease.17, 18. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
