RANGAP1 and viral infectious disease: We first tested the distributions of LaminB1 (a marker for the nuclear lamina), RanBP2 (a nucleoporin and an E3 SUMO protein ligase that has been reported previously in response to CoV-2 infection 30), and RanGAP1 (it typically forms a complex with SUMO-modified RanGAP1 and Ubc9 to co-regulate the SUMOylation of target proteins 31) of the nuclear pore complex upon viral infection (Figure 2A-B).
