Our study shows that morphea patients present with lower serum levels of this protein, which may contribute to skin fibrosis typically observed in morphea, especially in the most severe forms, although we found no significant differences in adiponectin levels between patients with MEP, the most common and mildest type of morphea, and other variants of this disease, including more severe forms like deep, generalized, or linear. Here, ADIPOQ is linked to localized scleroderma.
