High levels of HMGA2 staining were associated with invasive tumor growth of urothelial carcinomas of the urinary bladder (p < 0.0001), high grade (p < 0.0001), advanced pT (p < 0.0001), nodal (p = 0.0171), and distant metastasis (p < 0.0001) as well as poor overall survival in univariate (p < 0.0001; Supplementary Fig. 3) and multivariate analysis (p = 0.0374, adjusted for pT and pN) in clear cell RCC, nodal metastasis in papillary RCC (p = 0.0099) as well as nodal metastasis in papillary thyroid cancer (p = 0.0063).
