Patients who developed atrial arrhythmias exhibited significantly greater increases in both ΔTroponin I (7.8 ± 3.9 ng/L vs. 2.4 ± 1.6 ng/L, P = 0.006) and ΔNT-proBNP (210 ± 105 pg/mL vs. 60 ± 35 pg/mL, P = 0.015) compared to those without arrhythmias. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and cardiac arrhythmia.
