Cheng et al. [14] reported that HAI-1/SPINT1 knockdown in a human pancreatic cancer cell line (SUIT2) significantly reduced the expression of E-cadherin and was accompanied by increased expression of Smad-interacting protein 1 (SIP1), which is known to be an E-cadherin transcriptional repressor.
