CRP and appendicitis: Patients with complicated appendicitis had significantly higher levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) (4.7 vs. 1 mg/dL, p < 0.001), platelet counts (PLTs) (317 × 109 vs. 286 × 109 PLTs per microliter of blood, p = 0.001), white blood cell counts (WBCs) (17.2 × 103 vs. 14 × 103 WBCs per microliter of blood, p < 0.001) and neutrophil percentages (NEUT) (82.7% vs. 77%, p < 0.001).
