PROX1 and helminthiasis: Prox1 and Ki67 stainings of the duodenum revealed an increase in the number of Prox1+ nuclei per LYVE-1+ lacteal and an increase in Ki67+ LECs upon S. venezuelensis (Fig. 2, J and K; and Fig. S2 K), suggesting that lymphangiogenesis rather than overt cell spread alone underlies the increase in lacteal length and surface area following helminth infection.
