Laboratory investigations revealed proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, and an eGFR of 73 ml/min/1.73 m2 while other autoantibodies (ANCA, DNA, LAC, ANA, ENA, and anti-cardiolipin) were not detected. A kidney biopsy revealed a typical picture of MN. Both the PLA2R and THSD7A antigens were not detected in the kidney tissue, and the anti-PLA2R antibody test result was negative.
