Using single-cell RNA-seq on CD45+ cells in the atherosclerosis studies mentioned above, we found that the aggravated atherosclerotic plaques from the mice reconstituted with Setdb2-deficient bone marrow contained significantly fewer T-cells along with significantly enhanced neutrophil infiltration.17 A more detailed analysis of our bulk RNAseq data from the β-glucan training experiment reported here showed an enrichment for Ccl chemokine signaling mediators within cluster-1 genes, whereas Cxcl pathway regulators were enriched in cluster 2. This evidence concerns the gene SETDB2 and atherosclerosis.
