2′‐fucosyllactose (2′‐FL), the most abundant HMO, has demonstrated significant therapeutic potential in experimental necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a fatal intestinal emergency in newborns, by enhancing intestinal barrier integrity, alleviating gut dysbiosis, mitigating overactivation of the TLR4/NF‐κb pro‐inflammatory pathway, and improving local micro‐perfusion (Hackam and Sodhi 2022; Zhang et al. 2023). Here, TLR4 is linked to necrotizing enterocolitis.
