The STRIDE (Selecting Therapeutic Targets in Inflammatory Bowel Disease) initiative has defined mucosal healing and resolution of clinical symptoms as the treatment targets in 2015.10 STRIDE-II statement was published in 2021, adding normalization of C-reactive protein (CRP) and fecal calprotectin, and restoration of quality of life as short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term targets, respectively, into the equation.11 Here, CRP is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
