Among these, ST3 beta‐galactoside alpha‐2,3‐sialyltransferase 1 (ST3Gal1) is a key α2,3‐sialyltransferase (α2,3‐ST) that modifies terminal galactose residues on glycoproteins,9, 10 and its overexpression has been linked to tumor progression and chemoresistance in gynecologic cancers.11, 12. This evidence concerns the gene ST3GAL1 and female reproductive organ cancer.
