The Scnn1b-Tg+ mouse recapitulates the features of human CF lung disease such as mucus hyperconcentration, mucus obstruction, mucous cell metaplasia, susceptibility to bacterial infection and airway inflammation, making it a widely used model for CF (Mall et al., 2008; Zhou et al., 2011).
