To assess whether a classification of CVID patients according to the relative values of CD57+ CD8 T cells compared to other subpopulations could be clinically relevant, we investigated the values of CD57+ CD8 T cells and other T-cell subsets in relation to the manifestation of hepatopathy, splenomegaly, splenectomy, and CMV infection. This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and common variable immunodeficiency.
