In sepsis, YTHDF2 inhibits the release of HMGB1 and alleviates inflammatory responses (Zeng et al. 2023), but no further exploration has been made on the mechanism of YTHDF2 regulating HMGB1 expression; in primary liver cancer, HMGB1 is demethylated by ALKBH5 and recognized by Reader YTHDF2, promoting its degradation (Chen et al. 2021a, b). This evidence concerns the gene YTHDF2 and liver cancer.
