Our data supports this notion by demonstrating that PIEZO1 upregulation occurs in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-17 A. Notably, knockdown of PIEZO1 in HaCaT keratinocyte cell lines resulted in reduced inflammatory response to IL-17 A, confirming its role as an amplifier in the vicious cycle of psoriasis inflammation. The gene discussed is PIEZO1; the disease is psoriasis.
