It is strongly associated with the presence of anti-SSA/Ro and/or anti-SSB/La antibodies in the mother's serum, regardless of whether she has SLE, SS, or is completely asymptomatic.6, 8In our study, anti-SSA and anti-SSB antibodies in the mother's serums were positive in five cases, with only one patient having a prior diagnosis of lupus.
