In a mouse model of colitis, royal jelly acid significantly reduced the expression of key inflammasome components, including TXNIP, NLRP3, ASC, Caspase-1, GSDMD, N-GSDMD, IL-1β, and IL-18, while in THP1 cells, it inhibited LPS/ATP-induced inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis, thereby alleviating inflammation and associated colitis (Huang S. et al., 2022).
