In peimine‐containing compound herbal formulations, peimine inhibits M2 macrophage polarization by promoting autophagy through suppression of the serine/threonine‐protein kinase mTOR (mTOR) signaling suppression, thereby attenuating the development of pulmonary fibrosis (Zhao et al. 2021).
