STAT3-hyper IgE syndrome (STAT3-HIES) is a type of PID caused by dominant-negative pathogenic variants in STAT3. Patients with STAT3-HIES typically present with the classic triad of cold abscesses, elevated serum IgE levels, and refractory eczema beginning in the neonatal period (2). The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is hyper-IgE syndrome.
