CD4+ T cells have an established role in the orchestration of intact granuloma formation during schistosomiasis [14,15,18,19], where a precise balance between Th1 and Th2 cells, and regulatory cells (including Regulatory T cells [Tregs] and B cells [Bregs]) is needed to avoid severe and potentially life-threatening pathology [20]. Here, CD4 is linked to schistosomiasis.
