These results were in agreement with the current results which showed that with exception for RBCs and Hb values, the whole blood picture indices and venous blood pH showed significant alterations at day 0 in diseased sheep with acute ruminal impaction where they were either below their reference ranges mentioned by Smith (63) for venous blood pH indicating metabolic acidosis or above their reference values mentioned by Radostits et al. (64); Jackson and Cockcroft (22) for PCV and TLC indicating dehydration and leukocytosis, respectively. The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is Increased total leukocyte count.
