In addition, the Treatment Options for Type 2 Diabetes in Adolescents and Youth (TODAY) study of 640 youth (aged 10–18 years) with obesity and type 2 diabetes recently showed results consistent with ours, i.e., that Black versus White youth had 23.8% lower fasting and 24.4% lower 2‐h OGTT MCRI (calculated from the molar ratio of fasting C‐peptide to insulin or the molar ratio of AUC of insulin to C‐peptide during a 2‐h OGTT, respectively) [37]. Here, INS is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
