In line with this, increased hepatic expression of Tgm2 post-infection has been implicated in development of liver fibrosis52; thus, further studies investigating TGM2 as a potential candidate regulating liver steatosis/fibrosis status in obesity, would contribute to delineating the holistic role of TGM2 in diet-induced obesity.
