It is noteworthy that a homogenic A107P variant of DJ-1 (c.319G>C/c.319G>C as the genomic mutation) was reported as a pathogenic mutation in a 22 -year-old with early onset Parkinson’s disease, as it demonstrates that pathophysiological phenotype was caused by the loss of enzymatic activity associated with the A107P mutation (Ghazavi et al., 2011). This evidence concerns the gene PARK7 and Parkinson disease.
