CYP3A5 and hypertensive disorder: Some studies have linked the loss-of-function variant CYP3A5*3 with lower blood pressure (Bochud et al., 2006; Givens et al., 2003; Jin et al., 2007) and lower HTN risk (Ho et al., 2005; Kivistö et al., 2005) suggesting that, compared to a functional CYP3A5*1 allele, the loss-of-function variants lead to lower blood pressure.
