At this time point, significantly higher TNF‐alpha and IL‐6 levels were detected in the ALPPS group compared to PVL (serum TNF‐alpha postoperative 4 h, 142 ± 39 vs. 197 ± 42 pg/mL, p = 0.0484; serum TNF‐alpha postoperative 24 h, 140 ± 17 vs. 242 ± 58 pg/mL, p < 0.0001; serum IL‐6 postoperative 24 h, 111 ± 36 vs. 196 ± 79 pg/mL, p = 0.0092, PVL vs. ALPPS, Figure 5). Here, TNF is linked to periventricular leukomalacia.
