Due to its activity against S. aureus and HSV-1 together with its ability to enhance IL13RA2 expression and suppress Th2 cytokine secretion4,12–14,20,21, R7 is an attractive candidate for the treatment of AD, where these pathogens are major disease drivers and HSV-1 infection can lead to eczema herpeticum.
