To conclude, the current study highlighted the involvement of NETs in the DSS-induced model of experimental colitis via multi-plex IF imaging, whilst the administration of AZD3241 (inhibiting MPO) and GSK484 (inhibiting PAD4) both reduced NET mucosa formation and reduced MC migration and activation, which are closely related to the pathophysiology of the neutrophil immune response. Here, PADI4 is linked to colitis.
