According to an alternative study on the anticancer effects of thymoquinone, thymoquinone sensitizes pancreatic cancer cells to gentamicin and oxaliplatin during chemotherapy via the downregulation of transcription factors, NF-κB and Bcl-2 genes, and NF-κB-dependent anti-apoptotic genes (Gomathinayagam et al., 2020). The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
