Gene Ontology (GO) and KEGG pathway analyses based on epigenome-wide DNA methylation profiling of blood samples from 24 hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) patients and 24 age-, sex-, and ethnicity-matched controls, have identified several dysregulated pathways associated with HS, such as cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, JAK-STAT signaling, MAPK signaling, chemokine signaling, TNF signaling, and IL-17 signaling (76). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is histiocytic sarcoma.
