To understand the mechanism behind the reduction in beta‐amyloid deposition we observed as a result of acute colitis, we first performed immunofluorescence of microglia (Iba1) and beta‐amyloid (4G8) in the subiculum of brain tissue sections (Figure 5A) and measured colocalization as a measure of microglial phagocytosis. This evidence concerns the gene AIF1 and colitis.
