The probability of CTNNB1 mutation was greater in HCC patients with low mtDNA scores, and CTNNB1 mutation in HCC patients was associated with specific well-differentiated HCC subtypes, in contrast to the findings in TP53-mutated HCC patients, in whom histologically poorly differentiated, highly proliferative, large trabecular clumps developed [40]. This evidence concerns the gene CTNNB1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
