Reduced expression of the NPC1L1 gene in subcutaneous adipose tissue was associated with a decreased risk of EC (OR = 0.73, 95% CI: 0.56–0.96, p = 0.02), but an increased risk of GC (OR = 1.33, 95% CI: 1.08–1.64, p < 0.01), CRC (OR = 1.11, 95% CI: 1.01–1.22, p = 0.03), and LC (OR = 1.46, 95% CI: 1.10–1.94, p = 0.01). This evidence concerns the gene NPC1L1 and colorectal carcinoma.
