From this, nine core proteins were identified as potential anti-obesity targets, including fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase b (ALDOB), methionine adenosyltransferase 1A (MAT1A), carbamoyl-phosphate synthase 1 (CPS1), apolipoprotein A1 (APOA1), apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3), apolipoprotein A2 (APOA2), apolipoprotein M (APOM), phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH), betaine-homocysteine S-methyltransferase 2 (BHMT2). Here, MAT1A is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
