Similarly, a single‐arm prospective trial involving 48 individuals with coronary artery disease (CAD) showed that only patients who experienced an improvement in myocardial ischemia and failure following extracorporeal shockwave myocardial revascularization (ESMR) exhibited increased markers of angiogenesis (i.e., VEGF), decreased markers of inflammation (i.e., IL‐1β), and elevated levels of pro‐resolving mediators (i.e., LXA4) [73].
