Recent studies have indicated that mutations or abnormal expression of the JUP gene are closely associated with various diseases, including prostate cancer (5), ovarian cancer (6), oral squamous cell carcinoma (7), gastric cancer (8, 9), arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) (10, 11), Naxos disease (12), and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (13). This evidence concerns the gene JUP and Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.
