Patients with ΔAlb ≥ 16% were more likely to be female (p = 0.033), had higher preoperative hemoglobin (p = 0.019) and albumin levels (p < 0.001), and more prevalence of malnutrition (p = 0.03), but lower BMI (p = 0.002) and skeletal muscle index (SMI) (p < 0.001) compared to those with ∆Alb < 16%. Here, ALB is linked to malnutrition.
