Notably, LH receptor (LHR) and FSHR are aberrantly expressed in non-reproductive tumors of spayed dogs, such as lymphoma [12], splenic hemangiosarcoma [15,16], mastocytoma [13], prostate cancer [17], and transitional cell carcinoma [18], and correlate with increased tumor incidence post-gonadectomy.
