In salicylate-intolerant individuals, reduced PGE2 leads to an overproduction of cysteinyl leukotrienes (CysLTs), which upregulates interleukin-33 (IL-33) [83], leading to Th2-mediated inflammatory and allergic responses [51], bronchoconstriction, and, possibly, AD symptomology [84,85].
