Since the NLRP3 inflammasome is indispensable for the processing of the principal proinflammatory cytokines and can lead to the progression of NAFLD into NASH [15], new evidence from experimental models shows that NLRP3 inflammasome-associated medications and inhibitors can effectively improve NASH [15,16]. The gene discussed is NLRP3; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
