Of note, vitiligo is often accompanied by other cutaneous immune-mediated disorders, like alopecia areata (associated with an IFN-γ and IL-15 signature) [138,139], atopic dermatitis (typically characterized by an overproduction of Th2-related cytokines, including IL-4, IL-13, and IL-31) [140,141], and psoriasis (driven by IL-17, IL-23, and TNF-α) [142,143,144]. The gene discussed is IFNG; the disease is vitiligo.
