We inhibited HER2 activity using lapatinib, dual tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting the ErbB1 (EGFR) and ErbB2 (HER2) receptors, that has been shown to effectively disrupt HER2 signaling, inhibiting cell proliferation and survival in breast cancer cells [28,29], and used primarily to treat HER2-positive breast cancer [30,31].
