An immune-regulator gene signature including MDK (alongside TSLP, BIRC5, S100B, S100P, RARRES3, BLNK, and ACO1) was found to be an accurate predictor of progression-free survival in breast cancer at 3 and 5 years, even within clinical groups (i.e., ER-positive, ER-negative, node-positive, node-negative etc.)[126]. This evidence concerns the gene MDK and breast cancer.
