The Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) protein fulfills an important role in hematopoiesis via the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) pathway, as it provides the genetic driver of BCR::ABL1-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), which are clinically manifested as polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and primary myelofibrosis (PMF). Here, JAK2 is linked to primary myelofibrosis.
