A very interesting result was obtained in our study: when analyzing only patients with chITP and positive for antithyroglobulin antibodies, ANA, and/or LAC antibodies, either individually or in combination, but without clinical manifestations of autoimmune disease, it was found that nearly 70% of these patients were boys (47 out of 68), a finding that, to date, has not been documented in the literature. The gene discussed is LCT; the disease is autoimmune disease.
