Another study revealed that the lysosome-associated protein transmembrane 4B (LAPTM4B) protected against ferroptosis in NSCLC by inhibiting ubiquitin–proteasome degradation of the cystine/glutamate antiporter SLC7A11, a process mediated by NEDD4L/ZRANB1 both in vivo and in vitro [24].
