Major downregulated genes include CD34, essential for stem cell attachment [64,65]; FABP3, which mediates the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and inhibits stem cell proliferation [66]; HCN4, which encodes a potassium channel vital for native pacemaker currents in the heart [67]; PTN, known to regulate both cell proliferation and differentiation [68,69]; and CCDC88C, required for G-protein activation in Wnt signaling and driving cancer metastasis [70]. This evidence concerns the gene HCN4 and cancer.
