Our results show a significant increase (p < 0.05) in the protein levels of NLRP3 (Figure 2A), ASC (Figure 2B), procaspase-1 (Figure 2C) and caspase-1 (Figure 2D) and in the pro-IL1β mRNA levels (Figure 2E) in subjects with both PCOS and gingivitis, while no differences were detected in the serum IL1β levels (Figure 2G). Here, IL1B is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
