In line with such previous research, our present findings highlight an increase in the inflammatory mediator NFκB in the PBMCs from patients with PCOS and gingivitis, along with a rise in JNK levels, whose induction of NLRP3-phosphorylation has been reported as a critical and essential priming event for NLRP3 self-association and subsequent inflammasome activation [45], which was aligned with an increase in pro-IL1β mRNA levels. The gene discussed is NFKB1; the disease is gingivitis.
